Tempest UAS

Our initial testing operations occur at the Table Mountain National Radio Quiet Zone north of Boulder, CO and are authorized by the FAA under Certificate of Authorization 2008-WSA-81. Addditional operations in the Pawnee National Grasslands in northeast Colorado are authorized uner CoA 2008-WSA-82.

Under COA 2008-WSA-81, all operations of the Tempest UAS are to remain in Class G and E airspace above Table Mountain, at or below 1000 feet AGL. In addition, 24 hours prior to flights we are to issue a NOTAM (notice to airmen) with the Vance Brand (KLMO) airport manager. Finally, we are to monitor the Vance Brand Airport (KLMO) common traffic advisory frequency of 122.975 MHz. Under COA 2008-WSA-82, Tempest UAS operations are also to remain in Class G and E airspace above the Pawnee National Grasslands, with a NOTAM issued 24 hours in advance with Denver TRACON, Denver ARTCC, Military Operations, and CYS Approach.

We anticipate further tests to take place in Southwest Nebraska and Northwest Kansas. Authorizations for these additional locations are currently in the application review process.
